Revolutionary Esko Print Clone named winner of Zero Impact Packaging award for technical innovation

Back to news

Esko Print Clone, a cloud-native color matching solution launched in 2025, has been awarded in the Printing Technology category at the 2025 Zero Impact Packaging Awards. The solution was officially introduced earlier this year and is designed to support digital printing workflows for packaging and label production.

Print Clone uses automation and AI-driven color optimization to enable digital press operators to accurately reproduce colors from previously printed packaging, independent of the original printing process. The software operates without local installation and integrates directly into existing workflows through a cloud-based platform.

The solution allows users to upload PDF files, measure colors from physical samples using a spectrophotometer, and generate production-ready, color-accurate PDF files. This approach reduces manual intervention, minimizes trial-and-error processes, and helps improve turnaround times while supporting more efficient resource usage.

The Zero Impact Packaging Awards recognize innovations that contribute to more sustainable, efficient, and responsible packaging production. Print Clone’s recognition highlights its role in improving color consistency, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity in digital packaging and label printing environments.
