Discover Esko’s Latest Innovations at All4Pack: A Leap Forward in Automation and Platemaking

Visitors to this year’s All4Pack exhibition in Paris will be introduced to a new era of efficiency and integration with Esko’s latest advancements in automation and platemaking. Esko is set to unveil its groundbreaking Esko S2 cloud-based ecosystem, designed to revolutionize partner integration and streamline operations. The company will also showcase its new Job Onboarding solution, along with the innovative Varnish Inspection Module and the state-of-the-art CDI Crystal XPS Quartz Edition. These cutting-edge technologies collectively aim to enhance flexo printing quality and overall operational efficiency.

The Esko S2 platform represents a major evolution in software architecture, offering a multi-tenant cloud-native environment. This new platform leverages cloud computing, data sharing, and artificial intelligence (AI) to transform traditional workflows. Esko S2 seamlessly integrates with existing Esko products such as ArtPro+, ArtiosCAD, Phoenix, Cape Pack, and Automation Engine, providing all stakeholders with 24/7 real-time access to live data and uniform resources globally. Furthermore, Esko S2 is designed to be an open platform, fostering connectivity with various partners and ensuring a cohesive experience.

Jan De Roeck, Esko’s Director of Marketing, Industry Relations & Strategy, emphasizes the significance of this development: “At All4Pack, we are guiding our customers towards the future of connected, cloud-based operations. We are excited to present this platform in Paris, showcasing how our next-generation solution facilitates seamless integration of Esko’s on-premise applications with the S2 ecosystem. This leap forward will enable brands and their packaging supply chains to achieve unprecedented speed and efficiency in their go-to-market strategies.”

The event will also highlight the latest in hardware innovation. The AVT Varnish Inspection Module, a key feature at the booth, enables label converters to detect defects in varnish coatings during live print runs. This module, an addition to the Helios system, allows for simultaneous inspection of varnish and coating alongside print defects. This patented technology addresses issues like varnish misregister and partial or complete starvation, significantly enhancing output and minimizing waste in the printing process.

Adding to its suite of innovations, Esko is also debuting the CDI Crystal XPS Quartz Edition. This new edition builds on the success of the CDI Crystal series, incorporating advanced optics and optimized Crystal Screening software to improve flexo plate imaging and print quality. The Quartz Edition introduces 2000 lpi surface structures (Q-Cells), representing a significant advancement in flexo platemaking. “The Quartz Edition sets a new standard in flexo plate imaging speed and quality, offering a viable alternative to gravure,” says Jan.

Esko’s commitment to advancing the entire supply chain is further exemplified by the introduction of its Job Onboarding solution. This innovation streamlines the initial stages of the supply chain by providing converter sales and customer service teams with access to professional packaging tools typically reserved for the prepress department. This approach enhances automation and speeds up the start of the production process.

Jan De Roeck summarizes the impact of these innovations: “At All4Pack, we will demonstrate how our latest advancements in flexo quality, inspection, and integrated ecosystems are empowering businesses to transform their workflow automation. By harnessing cloud technology and AI, we are accelerating speed-to-market while ensuring integrated color accuracy and consistency.”

Esko is eager to showcase these transformative technologies and highlight the power of collaboration in advancing performance within the global packaging and print industry. The All4Pack exhibition, running from November 4-7 at the Paris Nord Villepinte, will be the perfect venue to explore these innovations and their potential to revolutionize industry practices.
